You must remember his face from Donnie Darko or Brokeback Mountain. He is a very cute actor and a very promising one. He is Jake Gyllenhaal and I am for sure a Gyllenhaalic (for those who don't know this is the name for the most extreme fans of him)!
Jake was born in LA in Dec.19.1980 (yes, he is just 26!). His parents are both connected with cienma and so he start making small appearances in some movies. He became famous in 2001 with the hit Donnie Darko and in 2005 he was nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Brokeback Mountain, in which Jake and Heath Ledger played two sheep herders who have a lustful homosexual relationship in 60's.
Raised in a family concerned with social issues, Jake Gyllenhaal has campaigned on behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union, an organization strongly supported by all his family. Environmentally conscious, he recycles regularly, and said in an interview that he spends $400 a year on having trees planted in a Mozambique forest, partly to promote the Future Forests program. After filming The Day After Tomorrow, he flew to the Arctic to promote awareness of climate change.
In his spare time, Jake enjoys woodworking, and cooking. He has stated «I'm not a card-carrying Buddhist, but I do try to practice mindfulness» and he makes it his goal to meditate every day.
He is not gay (unfortunatelly, i must say). But he has very good humour: answering to the rumors that circulated after the release of Brokeback Mountain regarding the actor's sexual orientation, Jake said:

«You know it's flattering when there's a rumor that says I'm bisexual. It means I can play more kinds of roles. I'm open to whatever people want to call me. I've never really been attracted to men sexually, but I don't think I would be afraid of it if it happened.»
Very well... and with a lot of class. I'm a Gyllenhaalic!! And after watching this pictures I'm sure you will be too.
